About IASPM

Founded in 1981, The International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM) has grown into an international network of over 500 members in 36 countries. IASPM is interprofessional and interdisciplinary. It welcomes as members anyone involved with popular music. If you are a returning member, thanks once again for your support and participation. And if you are a new member, we look forward to working with you in maintaining IASPM-Canada as a supportive, exciting venue for research and discussion on all aspects of popular music.

Depuis sa fondation en 1981, l’International Association for the Study of Popular Music s’est ramifiée pour donner naissance à un réseau international comptant plus de 500 membres provenant de 36 pays. La section canadienne compte plus de 30 membres, parmi lesquels plusieurs sont actifs tant sur la scène nationale qu’internationale. L’IASPM est une organisation interprofessionnelle et interdisciplinaire qui accueille toute personne intéressée par la musique populaire sur un plan académique. L’association désire par ailleurs demeurer indépendante de tout intérêt commercial ou gouvernemental, dans le but de préserver son autonomie.
